Officials from prospective sister city Pohang, South Korea pay courtesy call to Davao City Mayor

Delegates from Pohang, South Korea led by Park Jae-gwan, Director General of the Autonomous Administration Bureau, made a courtesy call to Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte last August 17, 2024, at Matina Enclaves Residences. Alongside other delegates and guests for the Kadayawan Festival 2024, the Pohang delegation expressed their gratitude for the invitation to Davao City and for future cooperation in business, agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism.

Pohang is in the process of establishing ties to formalize an agreement as Davao’s sister city. Pohang is a maritime city, primarily a fishing port and home of POSCO Steel, the fourth largest steel maker in the world.

Pohang City Councilmen Bae Sang-shin and Hwang Chan-kyu, Daewha Co. Ltd. Vice Chairman Shin Jong Chan, Hong Jin-pyo, and Kim Bongchul accompanied the Director General.
