To strengthen its relationship with Davao City, South Korean Ambassador H.E. Kim Inchul said that the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines will continue to work side by side with the city and commit to its progress.
The Korean Envoy visited Davao for the first time on June 18-19 to attend the oath taking of the new Vice President Sara Z. Duterte. Ambassador Kim paid a courtesy visit to Davao City Mayor-Elect Sebastian Z. Duterte where he expressed his commitment to strengthen Korea and Davao’s relationship.
Mayor-Elect Duterte assured the envoy that the City of Davao is always open for partnership opportunities. He said that his office will always be open for the Envoy whenever he visits Davao and that he is also very interested in future collaborations and partnerships with Korea.
The Republic of Korea opened an honorary consulate in Davao on November 2016. The Korean Embassy is located in Taguig City and has a consulate in Cebu City. Meanwhile, Philippines has two representations in RoK—an embassy in Seoul and a consulate in Pusan.
Ambassador Kim is the 28th envoy of Korea to the Philippines. He served in various diplomatic posts overseas for more than 30 years in different countries including USA, Argentina, Colombia and the French Republic.
