Davao City — The Davao City Investment Promotion Center and the Embassy of India in the Philippines held the Davao City-Indian Business Roadshow last February 18 to promote the city as a premier investment destination for Indian businesses, entrepreneurs, and investors.

With focus on the promotion of the city’s Agribusiness, Pharmaceutical and Healthcare, Automobile, Chemical Sector, and IT & Digital industries; the said roadshow by Indian entrepreneurs and featured ten Indian businessman as speakers.

The event was also graced by His Excellency Shambhu S. Kumaran, Ambassador of India to the Philippines., Mr. Nishikant Singh, First Secretary for Economic and Commerce of the Embassy of India in the Philippines, Dr. Maria Lourdes G. Monteverde, President of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc., and a video message from Vice Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte representing the City Government of Davao.

The roadshow resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. and the Indian Business Forum (IBF) Philippines Assn., Inc. An Indian Company focusing on health will be setting up six to eight Dialysis Centers in the Davao Region, two of which will be in Davao City, while a big BPO Company is looking into establishing around a thousands seats for IT-BPO in Davao City.
