Davao City is 1st in Economic Dynamism and Infrastructure in Visayas and Mindanao

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through its Competitiveness Bureau, announced the new Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) rankings last August 23, 2024.

The sustainable competitiveness of cities and municipalities is measured according to five indicators: (1) economic dynamism, (2) government efficiency, (3) infrastructure, (4) resilience, and (5) innovation.

Based on the 2024 results, Davao City is the most competitive among the highly urbanized cities in Visayas and Mindanao in the pillars of economic dynamism and infrastructure.

Davao City has been in the top 10 of the most competitive highly urbanized cities since 2015.
