Sixteen Indian companies came to Davao City to attend the business-to-business (B2B) meeting organized by the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) on November 17, 2022 to facilitate potential trade partnerships between India’s industry leaders and Davao’s local businesses.
Mr. Nishikant Singh, Economic & Commerce First Secretary from the Embassy of India in Manila remarked that the companies present are mostly engaged in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, textile and clothing, manufacturing & processing, stationery, packaging, medical and laboratory equipment, ceramics and engineering products. The products involved in the exchange range from potato, peanuts, coriander, fruits, maize, meat, coconut oil, including antibiotics, tiles and automotive parts.
Participating Indian companies include Fair Exports (India), Libero Export House, Standard Friction Components LTD, MS International, Anantya Bionics, and Vitaegiss Wellnes and many others.
The Davao City Investment & Promotion Center (DCIPC) facilitated the business matching wherein over seventy (70) Davao and Mindanao companies were able to link and initiate trading partnership explorations and similar opportunities. Local businesses present include Kinabuhi Organic Farms & Agri-Ventures Inc., Ma-an’s Bakeshop Co., Starbright Office Depot Inc., Davao Beta Spring, Inc., DMI Medical supply Co., Inc. DavSur Chamber of Commerce, Inc., among others.
Mr. Christian Cambaya of the DCIPC confirmed that a sizeable number of enterprises engaged in sales/marketing, food supplement distribution, building construction and agri-processing were able to clinch viable negotiations with the Indian firms.
Business matching is one of the activities facilitated by the DCIPC in close coordination with the Davao Chamber of Commerce for trade and investment promotion, as well as to create linkages with both local and international business partners.
