Hungarian Ambassador Titanilla Toth expressed her support for the city’s agricultural industry, particularly in rice production and that they will be glad to contribute donations that will support the production.

This was during the courtesy visit of the Hungarian Envoy to Mayor-Elect Sebastian Z. Duterte on June 09 at the Davao City Tourism and Investment Promotion Building.

Ambassador Toth visited Davao City with Hungarian Water Technology Corporation CEO Adrian Kiss last June 08-10 for various meetings involving possible venture of the company here in Davao City and to diversify Hungarian presence and to focus in Mindanao as business destination. The meeting with Mayor-Elect Duterte is part of the three-day itinerary.

In response, Mayor-Elect Duterte expressed willingness to accommodate future contributions from Hungary to the City of Davao, and said that the local government is open for exchanges in terms of doing business, education, tourism and such.

The courtesy call was also attended by Honorary Consul of Hungary in Davao, Ms. Mary Ann Montemayor, Chief Investment Specialist-Board of Investments, Mr. Gil Dureza,Director-Department of Foreign Affairs Mindanao, Economic Assistant Department of Foreign Affairs Mindanao, Ms. Marita Diane Montecillo.
