Preferred Districts for Investments

With vast available agricultural lands, Davao city is an ideal place for agribusiness. The following district areas are ideal places for agri-tourism and agricultural production for various products such as food, fuel, fiber, and raw materials. These districts account for 65% of all of Davao city’s land area.

Baguio District:

Baguio District is predominantly made out of agriculture and forest lands. More than half of the land area is devoted to agriculture supplying the city with various fruits, such as durian and pineapple, and other food requirements. A large area of the district, which is approximately 930 hectares, forms part of Mt. Apo Nature Park, one of the must-see sites in the city. 

Located in the district are some popular agritourism facilities, particularly the Malagos Gardens Resort and the Philippine Eagle Breeding Center.

The land use capability map has identified large areas of Baguio District as conservation zones since these are crucial to the watershed areas.

Calinan District:

Calinan continues to attract investors with its numerous business lines from micro to large enterprises, as well as several multinational companies that are operating in the area. Calinan is a gateway for agribusiness, having the suitable environment for cultivation of various crops. Its endowment for crop cultivation generates the commodities to be exported.

Transportation access is convenient within and outside the district. Its ideal climate and clean environment makes the district very livable. Calinan has different communities that respect the diversity of everyone. Indigenous tribes of Klata, Bagobo, and Tausug live in the district together.

Marilog District:

Situated along the mountain ranges, Marilog District is a flourishing destination nestled about 4,000 feet above sea level with a temperature of 20 C, making it an ideal location for cultivation and tourism.

Tourists do not only come for its scenic beauty but also for its unique locally made products. Marilog’s tourism development is genuinely promising. Its tourist spots mainly promote the district’s abundance of nature. Despite its attraction from tourists, 32% of its land area is conserved land.

Paquibato District:

Paquibato District is Davao City’s largest district with a total land area of 65,339.122 hectares; 53,040 hectares is classified as brush land and 10,492 as grasslands. The remaining 1,733 hectares are classified as agricultural lands.

Paquibato District is one of the major producers of crops and food products as well as raw materials for agro-industrial and food processing plants in the city.
